When we were waiting for the flight to Inuvik， there was a young lady carrying a newborn baby in her amauti hood. She slowly tilted the baby upside down from the hood and caught them with her hand. She has mad skillz. 今天我們在禁區等候去Inuvik的飛機，有個剛出生既B被一個女子從後面amauti大褸頂帽度頓出來，個B既頭仲要倒樹沖，不過個女仔又接到個B，厲害。
An indigenous elder sitting across us asked why do we travel alone as we looked so young. Once again we were being mistaken as kids! She spoke in a slow and steady pace, and her gaze looked into our soul. I should remind myself to control my speaking pace once I get there! 有個原住民既阿婆問我地點解咁後生又自己去旅行，又被當細路了！佢地講野好慢好定，目光如炬，成個佛咁。慘啦我要好好控制自己先，講野快變成少數了！
Our first stop from Edmonton was Yellowknife, then to a small town called Norman Wells, and finally to Inuvik. Yellowknife was minus 28 today, but it wasn’t so bad comparing to Toronto’s weather. We didn’t have much time in Yellowknife so we just window shopped the souvenirs shop. Before the flight the crew will spray anti freeze agents on the plane to de-ice the gears. This might be our last shot seeing the sun! 我地今日先飛黃刀，再轉機去Norman Wells， 再轉去Inuvik。黃刀今天負28度，我們走出去時對比起多倫多都不是太冷。看了個手信店就繼續起飛了。在飛之前機組人員會噴防結冰的噴霧在飛機上面防止水份凝結。現在可能是我們這幾天最後見到太陽的時候呢！
The second stop is Norman Wells. Sitting next to us on the plane is a man working as an oil rig worker there. He said there is only 800 people living in that town. Nothing much to see going outside of that airport other than snow. Lots of indigenous people landed here and drove back to their town. The people who boarded were mostly workers going to enjoy their weekend in Inuvik. 第二站是Norman wells，我們飛機坐隔壁的叔叔就是在那裏做採油工人的，是一個只有八百人的小鎮。下飛機只看到了冰天雪地，可是原住民都下機了，上機的大概都是週末到Inuvik放假的大叔。
My colleagues Sara and Lindsay came to pick us up with their truck. Sara said today was the first day of the “thirty days of darkness” in Inuvik. It’s actually pretty bright outside at noon. After unloading our bags in the hotel, Sara drove us to our hospital as there’s a staff appreciation event today so e we can meet people. The hospital is unexpectedly a cheerful place, so are my new colleagues. The event was very Christmassy with great food. 接機的是我的同事Sara和Lindsay，Sara 說今天是「三十日黑夜」的第二天，可是外面其實還是挺亮的。將大行李推上去酒店房後，她就車了我們去醫院去今天的一個大食會。醫院裡面是預料不到的快樂感覺，我的同事都是一班快樂和活躍的人。大食會非常有聖誕氣氛，東西也很好吃！
It was soooo hot and dry in our hotel room, just like in Morocco! We boiled some water to moisten up the air, but it made the room even hotter. Eventually I figured the thermostat was switched to 30 degrees Celsius… no wonder it felt so tropical! 回到酒店又熱又乾，好像在摩洛哥住似的！我們為了增加濕度開了熱水壺，可是又令房間更熱，真是很難搞。最後夜晚發現恆溫器被調到了三十度…難怪那麼熱！
